After a deep understanding of the course, l can reflect on the general trends that I have
observed regarding the development of personal learning networks(PLNs), the use of social media platforms and networked publics, and the changing perspective of social media in professional and personal settings.
Firstly, the course has emphasized the importance of building a PLN, which is a network of people and resources that one can turn to for learning and professional growth. The course has highlighted the fact that learning does not happen only in a traditional classroom setting, but rather it happens in a more informal and networked environment which requires individuals to be proactive in building their own learning networks. I have observed that participants in the course have actively engaged in building their PLNs by connecting with others in the course sharing resources and ideas and seeking feedback from their peers. They have also leveraged social media platforms like Twitter, Linkedin, and Facebook to expand their networks beyond the confines of the course and engage with professionals in their respective fields.
Secondly, the course has provided an opportunity for participants to explore different social media platforms and networked public, and understand their potential in professional and personal contexts. Participants have explored different platforms like Twitter, Linkedin, and Facebook and learned how to use them effectively to build their personal brands, network with other professionals, and promote their work. They have also learned about the potential risks associated with using social media such as privacy concerns, cyberbullying, and misinformation, and the importance of being mindful of these issues
Thirdly, the course has encouraged participants to reflect on their perspective of social media in professional and personal settings. Many participants have shared their experiences of how social media has helped them to connect with other professionals, access new opportunities, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in their respective fields. They have also acknowledged the potential risks and challenges associated with social media and the need to be mindful of their online presence and behavior.
Overall. I have observed that the course has been successful in encouraging participants to actively engage in building their PLNs, exploring different social media platforms and networked publics, and reflecting on their perspective of social media in professional and personal settings. I will continue to evolve my understanding of these concepts in line with the changing trends and developments in the field.
